About

My name is Daniel Roberts, and I am an IT Professional working towards a career in Software Development. I have spent over five years working in a Help Desk environment. I spent my Senior Year at Hanover College working at the school's free IT Service Desk, providing insights and system maintenance to students and faculty. I spent just over four years working as a Field Support technician, providing PC and Mac support to over 500 on-site employees and countless other off-site employees. More recently, I have been working towards improving my knowledge of Software Development. This began with my Front End Web Development course with Code Louisville in May 2018, and eventually culminated in my completion of a Postbaccalaureate Certificate in Software Development and Programming. I continue to increase my knowledge in all things IT as I search for new knowledge and fresh challenges.

I am passionate about learning and technology. I have a long history of both formal education and self-directed study with regard to a wide variety of topics.

Troubleshooting comes naturally to me. I am a problem solver and researcher, able to find unique solutions to complex problems. I have honed these skills professionally as a Field Support Technician as well as in my personal time serving as a point-of-contact on technical matters for my friends and family. I’m the one people come to when they need a solution right now.

Skills

I aspire to be a Full-Stack Developer with a strong knowledge of any related IT topics. As such, I make a point of learning a variety of technologies both on the front-end and back-end. My formal education has focused primarily on C#, and I still keep C# in my toolbox as a solid general-purpose language. In the long-term, I plan to move into JavaScript, with a focus on the MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node) Stack. I still have a lot to learn, but I am very excited by the prospect.
